Chealsea Goalkeeper Peter Cech Comment on 3-1 defeat by PSG says (is up to us)

Having conceded three goals for
only the third time this season,
Petr Cech discussed the deficit at
the midway point in Chelsea's
quarter-final tie against Paris St-

Our goalkeeper played his 100 th
European game for Chelsea in the
first leg and with such
experience, especially in two-
legged ties, he is by no means
writing off our chances of
making another semi-final,
although there were problems
against the French champions in
the Parc des Princes which must
not be repeated in next week's

'We had a bad start but once we
got the 1-1 goal we had the
much better of the game,' said
Cech. 'We played in their half and
we were dangerous.
'They had a few moments when
they were pressuring us but not
many, and there were not many
big problems but every time they
did manage to get forward they
were dangerous, and
unfortunately they managed to
score goals and that made a big

Cech considered the goals
conceded and whether we were
architects of our own downfall to
a degree with some avoidable
'Sometimes that is the way it is,'
he said. 'You need to control
every detail and we were a bit
unlucky. The second goal goes
through about 15 people and
nobody touches it and then it
hits David Luiz and goes in, and it
was one of those games, but the
most disappointing was the last
goal because we were all there,
ready, and Pastore managed to
go through from there and
managed to squeeze it through
me as well.'

As the first-leg final whistle blew
in Paris, many Chelsea followers
were recalling and drawing hope
from the 2012 tie against Napoli
when a 3-1 deficit going into the
second game was overturned at
Stamford Bridge. Cech was in
goal that night too, and he is
looking forward to what
promises to be a determined
attempt to repeat the feat.

'Win 2-0 and you are through so
you have to make sure you don't
concede at home and take all
your chances to score goals and
then you can progress,' he said.
'We have put ourselves in a
difficult position but while
everything is still possible we
cannot say the tie is done. It is
not 6-0 or 4-1 or 5-1. A 2-0 is
possible to win the game at
home and it is up to us.'
